I have some questions about street hockey?

i have only played hockey in gym and sometimes at friends houses kids said i would be good at it because i am tall. i dont have anything for street hockey because i decided i would start there so i could practice. i know i need some hockey roller blades.. can i use these on pavement in my driveway or does it have to be on outdoor basketball courts? i know i slao know i need a stick but thats all i know so is there any protection i need . i firgured i would just play for fun and actually play hockey on ice at local outdoor rinks. thanks for everyone that has helped me
